There’s not many better ways we can think of to spend a Saturday than with youth who are excited about serving Jesus. We hosted a one-day summit for youth (16-24 years old) who are stepping up as leaders within their churches on Bantayan island. Youth from several different churches attended, which creates a great fellowship dynamic as friendships are formed with other like-minded youth outside their churches.
This summit was titled “What if Jesus Meant What He Said?” and focused on some of the hard sayings of Jesus, like cutting off your hand or hating your family. The main point of the day is that Jesus really meant what He said, and as His followers we should be living like it – in every aspect of our lives.
We had 5 sessions of teaching, along with small group discussion to make the material covered practical and real to our lives. We worshiped together. We laughed together. And we parted ways, praying that we will not forget everything discussed and for the strength to live it out.
